The Town of Taos is hosting a free, community-wide Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Party on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Don Fernando Hall.

The event is designed for all ages and features a mix of whimsical fun and helpful community resources.

Event Highlights

• Seussian Fun: Costumes are encouraged! Meet characters like The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax. The first six children to arrive receive a special prize.

• Activities: Storytime at 4:30 PM, face painting, balloon animals, temporary tattoos, and craft stations.

• Treats & Swag: Enjoy cupcakes, ice cream, and various giveaways, including books, drawstring backpacks, and youth T-shirts (while supplies last).

Community Partners

Over 20 local organizations will be on-site, offering a variety of services and interactive booths:

• Health & Safety: Free vision screenings (Lions Club), fire safety with Smokey Bear, and alcohol/drug awareness simulations.

• Education & Literacy: Library card sign-ups, early intervention resources, and numerous book giveaways.

• Civic Engagement: Tactical gear demos by Taos County Adult Detention and a housing strategy survey from the Town Planning Department.
