Workshop: Publishing eBooks and Audio Books with Brian Skinner
The presentation will examine the technical issues involved with producing both eBooks and Audio Books, exploring the topics and requirements necessary to a professional result. Brian has assembled the required specifications and software — all of it freeware — that authors will need to produce electronic versions of their stories, novels, and poetry. Participants — a minimum of four and a maximum of twenty — will receive handouts and Internet links for all stages of the process. Register and pay for the event through SOMOS at www.somostaos.org or by calling 575-750-0081. The cost is $20 for SOMOS members, $25 for non-members. Brian Allan Skinner has written more than 120 published short stories which have appeared in small press and literary magazines in the United States, Canada, and Ireland. He is a former poetry and non-fiction reviewer for Kirkus Reviews and a production artist for Scientific American Newsletters in New York City. His most recent work, a collection of linked short stories, is Shoot Me, Jesus: Tales of the Old & New Southwest, published through Nighthawk Press. In 2015, Brian moved to Taos, New Mexico, which he first visited with his grandmother on a cross- country train trip aboard the Santa Fe Chief in 1960.
