In doing so he took a left directly into what was then called the "counter-culture", and has since found his way through life performing a wide variety of tasks, while pursuing his interest in poetry and Buddhism. He has written since he could read, and names his literary influences as writers from Lao Tzu to Allen Ginsburg, and Geoffrey Chaucer to Ogden Nash. He resides in Taos, NM and is currently chasing his fifth career, intending to make his living as a poet in this insane culture. TRAVEL BY HAIKU Travel By Haiku is a collection of haikus written by Marshall James Kavanaugh while he traveled around the country over the last 2 years. Each haiku serves as a meditation to get readers back in touch with their earthly roots and take them into far out dimensions that exist all over the United States. To perform this collection, Marshall James Kavanaugh will be accompanied by Brooklyn-musician Cameron Stuart and video artist/interactive dancer Stephanie Beattie. The audience will be exposed to nature infused video projections leading them through a dream sequence of travel and wonderment. Spoken word will play the guiding force as music and movement provides the driving beat. http://www.marshalljameskavanaugh.com/ http://www.cameroncstuart.com/
