Summer Lecture Series, John Suazo shares Stories from Taos Pueblo Elders
Friends of Taos Library Lecture Series. John Suazo will tell about “Stories from Taos Pueblo Elders,” that have inspired his sculptures. John Suazo, born at Taos Pueblo, has been a full-time sculptor since 1974. This award-winner sculptor says, “The stone talks to me and then we work together creating a story that fits it.” Suazo attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, Navajo Community College in Tsaile, Arizona, and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For over thirty years John Suazo has sculpted in alabaster, limestone, cedar, and walnut. A free event however donations are welcome.
