Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition
The Town of Taos Community Events, Taos Youth & Family Center, Taos Little League and Taos Men’s Adult Baseball League (MABL) will host a free Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run Competition for area youth on Sunday, April 29, 2018 starting at 1:00 PM. The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 7-14. It will be held at the Taos Little League Field at Kit Carson Park. PARENTS, PLEASE BRING A COPY OF YOUR CHILD’S BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR RELIGIOUS DOCUMENT TO SHOW PROOF OF AGE. Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills. Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10/ 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals during the 2018 MLB All-Star Week. Age is determined as of July 17, 2018. The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each division are group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition. All participants must have completed a registration form prior to start of competition. Parents please bring a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate or Religious Document to show proof of age. Registration forms will be available at the competition or in advance, at Taos Youth & Family Center and will be accepted the day of the competition.
