Free Community Art Class: Eyes The Gateway to the Soul

The Town of Taos invites you to join master artist Michael M. Hensley for a free, interactive art experience exploring the anatomy and expressive power of the eye.
This session covers human and animal forms, blending classical techniques with emotional depth.

• Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

• Location: Don Fernando Hall, 120 Civic Plaza Drive, Taos

• Cost: Free (All materials provided)

• Ages: 10+ (All skill levels welcome)

What to Expect

Through live demonstrations in drawing, pastel, and oil, participants will study:

• The Human Eye: Capturing emotion and "the language of the soul."

• The Cat Eye: Understanding vision, shadow, and light.

• Technical Skills: Mastering proportions, planes, and value relationships to create life-like portraits.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop offers a supportive environment to refine your mark-making and anatomical accuracy.
