In performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees at the Taos County Chamber of Commerce (TCCC) are expected to conform to the following:
- Adhere to all TCCC policies and the professional and ethical behavior standards of the industry.
- Interact in an honest, trustworthy and dependable manner with staff, members and the Board of Directors.
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Maintain a valid, insurable driver’s license.
This position is responsible for Taos County Chamber of Commerce membership and events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Answers telephone, email inquiries and sets member appointments daily.
- Sells new TCCC memberships.
- Retains and engages existing members through renewal emails with taoschamber.com stats, invoices, and communication with members.
- Follows up on member renewal past-due invoices, communicates with members to resolve.
- Provides members with support with their website presence on www.taoschamber.com.
- Follows up on new memberships with appropriate data entry, thank you and referrals.
- Prepares New Member call sheets for the Board of Directors.
- Creates and sends social media posts as approved by the Executive Director.
- Coordinates all facets of events.
- Creates and maintains event participation records.
- Sets up all events, remains on site and breaks down.
- Communicates regularly with the Executive Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
Experience:
One (1) year of direct work experience.
Education:
Associate Degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
·Excellent customer services skills.
·Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
·Ability to maintain a professional appearance and uphold the values of TCCC.
·Ability to communicate in a professional manner with all stakeholders including community members, Town and County officials, TCCC members and potential members.
·Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
·Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
·Knowledge of the use of basic office equipment and effective computer skills.
·Knowledge of social media platforms and marketing.
·Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Bilingual skills in English, Spanish or Tewa
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid work arrangement. Normal office conditions exist, noise level may vary, and overnight travel may be required.
While working in the field, the employee may be exposed to all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold, wind, rain or snow. Also, there may be exposure to vehicle exhaust or work site fumes. As in all social environments, exposure to a contagious disease is a possibility.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. May be required to stand for long periods. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Mental Demands:
There are several deadlines associated with this position. The employee must also multi-task and interact with a wider variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.
This position has access to sensitive information and a breach of these principles will be grounds for immediate termination.
