DESCRIPTION:On Demand!!! Music and Food in Poetry - A CONTINUATION\; SPRING INTO SUMMER\n\n \n\nOver the course of this seven-week poetry workshop\, we will continue to discover the landscape of camouflaged music in poetry\, and explore through food in poetry\, our relationships to family\, culture\, and earth.\n\nThis workshop will explore the variations of how poetic forms describe and express. The workshop will be a generative one\, as well as emphasizing craft\, and specific and careful word choices\, and how and why poetry elicits reactions.\n\nMy wish is to meet you wherever you are as a poet\, and guide towards writing more finished poems\, therefore inviting you even more so into this community of poets.\n\nSeven Evening Generative Poetry Workshop that can accommodate you either in June or/and July/August sessions if you are unable to attend all sessions.\n\nThere are two sessions set for summer months and you can join one or both depending on your schedule. The workshops meet on Monday eves at Somos from 6-8:45 p.m.\n\nSession One: June 3\, 10\, 17\n\nSession Two: July 22\, 29\, August 5\, 12\n\n8 students max\n\n \n\nCall 575-758-0081 or visit www.somostaos.org to register. \n\n\n\nA sensuous and fearless poet\, Catherine Strisik is the author of The Mistress (3: A Taos Press\, 2016) winner of the New Mexico/Az Book Award in Poetry\, 2017\; Thousand-Cricket Song (Plain View Press\, 2010\, 2nd printing 2016)\; and chapbook\, Insectum Gravitis (finalist in some\; eventually\, forthcoming)\, as well as a number of in-progress manuscripts. Nominated for a Pushcart\, Cathy has been widely published in literary journals and reviews. An encouraging and enthusiastic teacher\, she holds poetry workshops at Somos and in private poetry workshops in her home and in various other communities when called to do so. In 2012 she co-founded\, and co-edits the internationally acclaimed online journal\, Taos Journal of International Poetry & Art in order to bring together the voices of poets from around the globe. www.cathystrisik.com
