DESCRIPTION:At this open house\, The Couse Foundation highlights the "Mother Garden" of Taos. Volunteers collect seeds and cuttings during the year and share them with community members and visitors on the first Saturday every October. The seed and cuttings giveaway continues a tradition in remembrance of Virginia Walker Couse's original generosity\, which helped establish many Taos gardens. \n\n\n\nTour the historic studios of E. I. Couse and J. H. Sharp\, two of the founders of the Taos Society of Artists. Docents will be present in every room providing in-depth knowledge of the E. I. Couse House and Studio\, Virginia Couse Heritage Garden\, Kibbey Couse lab and machine shop\, and the 1915 Sharp Studio with the exhibition J. H. Sharp: The Life and Work of an American Legend.\n\nThis will be the last month for the exhibitions Taos Pueblo Portraiture: The Photographic Studies of E. I. Couse in the 1830s Luna Chapel and Joseph Henry Sharp's Montana in the 1915 Studio\, which close Nov. 2.\n\n\n\nOpen to the public\, free admission\; donations encouraged. Relevant books\, DVDs\, and other items for sale.\n\n\n\nTo access any of the tour segments\, come to the main entrance at 146 Kit Carson Road. Free parking available a half block east in the municipal lot on Kit Carson Road.
