DESCRIPTION:Michael Gorman has curated the is one-of-a-kind art show that features the artwork of the Navajo Code Talkers and their descendants. This is the first ever show of its kind and tells the story of the 400+ Navajo men who were trained as Code Talkers during World War II. But it doesn't stop there. Following the war\, many of the Code Talkers returned home to the stark reality of life in the US as an American Indian at the time.\n\n\n\nSome became outspoken politicians and fought to create a more equal place for the Navajo people in the areas surrounding the reservation and to establish tribal policies that supported a stronger future for their people. Others\, like Michael's grandfather\, Dr. Carl N. Gorman\, returned and furthered their education. They became teachers\, artists\, and leaders among their communities. \n\n\n\nThis show gives you the rare opportunity to see original art works by two Navajo Code Talkers\, Carl Gorman and Chester Nez.
