Whether you’ve written a first draft and don’t know what to do next or you’ve never gotten started, this workshop will give you the tools you need from start to middle to end. Beginning with ways in which you can prep and improve your novel, you will develop characters and setting, play with point-of-view, outline a workable plot structure and figure out where to start. Next, you will review various ways to write your novel—author-tested pathways that you can experiment with to find the novel writing process that works for you. Finally, we will discuss editing and how to get your draft from rough to polished. Along the way, you will be provided with handouts, resources and productivity tips to smooth your path to completion. All you need to bring is your creativity and story idea and by the end of the day, you’ll be encouraged and equipped to finally write your novel.
