Taos Chamber Music Group and Taos Center for the Arts present a series of socially distanced live concerts in the Encore Gallery.
The final installation of the mini concerts will feature a work by Indian American composer Reena Esmail for flute and cello. Called Nadiya (the Hindu word for river), it draws on two raags and was written in 2018 while Esmail was in Taos as part of TCMG's 26th Season. TCMG flutist Nancy Laupheimer will join Sally Guenther in performing this piece and also play a recent work for solo flute titled Homeland that address the fragility of the concept of home in times of crisis and alienation.
