"Compassion, Generosity and Grace" Stories from 9/11 by Regina Ress
Regina carries us from the streets of Lower Manhattan to the cloud-forest of Costa Rica and back as she shares stories of this extraordinary out-pouring of love by ordinary people in response to this extraordinary moment in history. Long time resident of the fabled Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City, Regina Ress is an award winning storyteller, actor, and author with an eye for setting and character and a deep love of life. For over 25 years, she has told stories in the US, Latin America and Europe in English and Spanish, in schools and international festivals, in prisons and parks, homeless shelters and the White House. Regina was a witness to the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and participant in the response that day and for many months afterward. She has stories. Join Regina at SOMOS in Taos as she shares stories of the best of human impulses in response to the worst. As New Yorkers and then the world reached out to neighbors, first responders, and NYC they created what Stephen Jay Gould called “The Great Asymmetry… little drops of gold within a rainstorm of similar offerings.” Please come and let her tell you about it. You will feel better about human beings.
